NEW MUSIC | NEW IDEAS | NEW INSPIRATIONS.

Veronica Tsang is a highly skilled and innovative international award-winning music composer and educator based in Australia.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Education with Composition as her principal study from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she graduated as a Targeted Graduate with Distinction in 2020.  Veronica's credentials include an Associate Performance Diploma (AMusA) in piano performance, which she obtained in 2015.

 

As a composer, Veronica has been recognised for her exceptional talent, winning second prize in the Golden Key International Piano Composition Competition at the young age of 14.  Her works were performed at prestigious venues in Vienna, including Ehrbar Hall and Mozarthaus.  In 2019, Veronica represented Australia as a top 20 finalist among 180 open-aged worldwide participants in the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition.

In 2023, Veronica was commissioned by Santa Sabina College to compose orchestral, choral, and electronic works for their annual Gala Concert, which premiered at the Sydney Town Hall in June.  Another new choral work was premiered by Gondwana Choirs - Young Men's Choir at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music during the September Spring concert.

 

Veronica's outstanding composition accomplishments also include receiving special commendation in the Artology Fanfare Composition Competition (2017), second prize in the St George & Sutherland Shire Youth Music Awards (2013, 2014, 2015 respectively), highly commended in the Sydney Eisteddfod Composition Competition (2014), one of 26 students selected interstate to work with composer Paul Rissmann and the London Symphony Orchestra in the MAKE Composition Project (2014) performed at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and one of 14 students selected nationally to participate in the Sinfonietta Composition Project with the late music educator, Richard Gill and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (2013).

 

Veronica currently teaches Music (Years 7 – 12) at Santa Sabina College, specialising in teaching the Music IB Diploma Programme. Her passion for teaching and her interest particularly in composition and experimenting with music technology inspires her students to seek their musical identity and find enjoyment in researching, performing, and creating music.  She is also teaching weekly Orchestral Musicianship classes as part of the Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) digital programs, which caters to the needs of HSC, IB, and elective music students from Years 7 – 12.

 

Veronica is an exceptional music educator who brings her wealth of knowledge and experience to her students and inspires them to achieve their full potential.
